Loiola: the legacy of St. Ignatius

Next to the medieval tower house, currently the Holy House, and the Basilica as a place for cult, a permanent exhibition has been put forward in the monumental set of Loiola of the legacy of St. Ignatius since the XVI century, with the foundation of the Society of Jesus and its historical evolution until nowadays, reflecting the thought of the saint from Guipuzcoa and its historical and religious transcendence through the Society of Jesus.

libroSt. Ignatius wrote the "Retreat" as a mode of internal knowledge that generated a personal method so as to behaviour in the world and disseminate the God’s word.

The four stages of the spirituality of St. Ignatius are looked over in this exhibiting site by means of the development of an area of intimacy and meditation which allows oneself to be spiritually immersed in the exercise of St. Ignatius.
